Flight Recommendation
To secure the best available airfare, we recommend booking flights as early as possible.
Our preferred option is Thai Airways, departing Mumbai at 2:40 AM, arriving at Chengdu International Airport at approximately 3:00 PM the same day via Bangkok.
For the return journey, we recommend Thai Airways departing Chengdu International Airport at 4:00 PM, arriving back in Mumbai at approximately 10:00 PM the same day via Bangkok.

Day wise Itinerary
Day 1 : 26th September
Day 1 – Arrival in Chengdu
Your journey begins in Chengdu, the gateway to Tibet. After arriving from Mumbai, settle into your hotel and rest before the adventure ahead. Wander through the city if time permits, enjoy a warm Sichuan dinner, and prepare for one of the world’s most extraordinary journeys.
Overnight: Chengdu – Tianfu International
Day 2 : 27th September
Day 2 – From Chengdu to Xining, Then Onto the Tibetan Plateau
A short flight takes you to Xining, where you board the legendary Qinghai–Tibet Railway.
As the train slowly leaves the city behind, anticipation builds. Tonight, you sleep aboard one of the world’s highest railway lines, heading towards the Roof of the World.

Day 3 : 28th September
Day 3 – The Great Tibetan Plateau
Wake to breathtaking views outside your window.
The train crosses vast grasslands, frozen lakes, remote settlements and the wild landscapes of Kekexili. Snow-covered peaks rise in the distance as you pass the Tanggula Mountains, one of the highest railway passes on earth.
By evening, you arrive in Lhasa, Tibet’s spiritual heart.
Take it easy tonight and allow your body to adjust to the altitude.

Day 4 : 29th September
Day 4 – Potala Palace & The Soul of Tibet
Today, step into the world you’ve imagined for years.
The magnificent Potala Palace rises above Lhasa like a dream. Once the winter residence of the Dalai Lamas, its golden roofs, ancient chapels and sacred halls tell centuries of Tibetan history.
Later, visit the Jokhang Temple, the most revered temple in Tibet. Outside, pilgrims circle Barkhor Street, turning prayer wheels and chanting prayers.
As evening falls, enjoy a traditional Tibetan welcome dinner.

Day : 30th September
Day 5 – Yamdrok Lake, Karola Glacier & The Road to Shigatse
Leave Lhasa and begin one of the most beautiful drives in Asia.
Cross high mountain passes before the stunning turquoise waters of Yamdrok Lake suddenly appear below. Sacred and impossibly blue, it is one of Tibet’s most treasured landscapes.
Continue past the dramatic Karola Glacier, where ice spills down the mountainside almost to the road.
By evening, arrive in Shigatse, Tibet’s second-largest city.

Day 6 : 1st October
Day 6 – Journey to Everest Base Camp
Today is the day many travellers dream about.
Driving deeper into the Himalayas, you’ll pass vast valleys, grazing yak herds and snow-covered peaks.
As you cross Gyatso La Pass, the Himalayan giants begin to reveal themselves.
Then comes the moment you’ve been waiting for—your first glimpse of Mount Everest.
Arrive at Rongbuk, home to the world’s highest monastery, and continue to Everest Base Camp. As the sun sets behind the Himalayas, Everest stands before you in all its glory.

Day 7 : 2nd October
Day 7 – Sunrise Over Everest
Rise before dawn.
As the first rays of sunlight touch the summit of Everest, the mountain glows gold against the dark Himalayan sky.
It is a moment few people ever experience.
After breakfast, begin the drive back through the dramatic Himalayan landscape to Shigatse.

Day 8 : 3rd October
Day 8 – Tashilhunpo Monastery & Return to Lhasa
Visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, seat of the Panchen Lama and one of Tibet’s most important religious centres.
Its golden rooftops, prayer halls and giant Maitreya Buddha statue offer a fascinating insight into Tibetan Buddhism.
Later, return to Lhasa, following the Yarlung Tsangpo Valley, the cradle of Tibetan civilisation.

Day 9 : 4th October
Day 9 – Namtso Lake: Tibet’s Heavenly Lake
Your final full day takes you north across the Tibetan grasslands.
Cross high mountain passes and arrive at Namtso, one of Tibet’s three sacred lakes.
Surrounded by snow-capped mountains and endless skies, the lake feels almost otherworldly.
Spend time soaking in the silence before returning to Lhasa for your final evening.

Day 10 : 5th October
Day 10 – Farewell Tibet
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Chengdu and onwards.
You leave with memories of sacred monasteries, turquoise lakes, vast plateaus, the world’s highest railway, and sunrise over Mount Everest, a journey across one of the last great frontiers on earth.
Day 11 : 6th October
With tons of memories fly back home
No trekking required. Comfortable for all ages
Many travellers assume that a journey to Tibet and Everest Base Camp involves trekking. This itinerary does not require any trekking and is designed to be comfortable and accessible for travellers of all ages.
The journey is primarily by train and private vehicle, with sightseeing at a relaxed pace. While the itinerary takes us to high altitudes, we stay in comfortable hotels, including oxygen-supported accommodation, and allow adequate time for acclimatization.
If you can comfortably manage short walks while sightseeing, you can enjoy this journey.

Clothing Strategy: Layers, Layers, Layers
Temperatures can swing dramatically between sunny afternoons and freezing nights.
